Hoffell

Spa Fontana in the town of Laugarvatn is a complex of geothermal pools and dry and humid saunas located on the shores of Lake Laugarvatn. It is a popular stop for visitors in the Golden Circle area and is relatively close to the Geysir and Thingvellir Park sites.

Humid Saunas: Local residents of the village have known and enjoyed the healing properties of the geothermal springs in the lake since the beginning of the last century.

Fontana utilizes the natural spring and channels warm and healing steam that twists directly from the ground into three saunas. The temperature of the steam varies and ranges between 40-50 degrees Celsius, depending on the temperatures of the spring and the weather.

The humidity in the saunas is very high. Grids on the sauna floor allow guests to hear and smell the natural hot spring beneath, creating a natural and unique experience.

Geothermal Pools:

Three interconnected mineral pools with varying depths, sizes, and temperatures. The pools and hot tubs are perfect for relaxation and enjoyment, featuring sculpted stone artworks created by an Icelandic artist. The highest hot tub provides a panoramic view of the beautiful surroundings, while the healthy waters nourish both the body and soul.

Finnish Sauna:

The Fontana facility also includes a Finnish-style sauna room. The temperature ranges between 80-90 degrees Celsius, with low humidity. Guests can sit and enjoy the beautiful lake view through the large window. The Finns have been enjoying sauna rooms for centuries, a place for them to relax with family and friends, as well as a space for physical and mental therapy.
