The spa is located in the small town of Árskógssandur, not far from Dalvík in northern Iceland. The initiative comes from the Kaldi brewery, one of the successful breweries in Iceland. The brewery itself is located right next to the spa complex. The spa is built near the fjord shore with a breathtaking view of the surroundings. Here, you can immerse yourself in a special and relaxing atmosphere and soak in wooden barrels filled with warm, malty beer.

Next to each soaking tub, there is a beer tap from the barrel for complimentary self-service, allowing visitors aged 20 and above to indulge while bathing.

In the beer spa, you bathe in young beer with live yeast, hops, water, beer oil, and beer salt. The beer used in the bath is in the early stages of fermentation, and at this point, it has a very low pH that will soften and condition your hair follicles, cleansing both your hair and skin.

Beer yeast, having undergone the fermentation process of brewing, is an excellent source of Vitamin B, which has a significant impact on the skin and hair, serving as a great source of protein, amino acids, iron, zinc, and magnesium.

Beer hops are rich in alpha acids and anti-inflammatory acids. Plant-derived fats and minerals have an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and are also used to reduce surface blood vessels. Hops have been proven to have a soothing effect on muscles and the body.

It is not recommended to shower for 3 to 5 hours after the bath. The bath’s temperature ranges from 37 to 39 degrees Celsius and is filled with a fresh mixture after each guest. This treatment not only cleanses the skin but also has a very positive impact on health.

The facility also features an outdoor hot tub for larger groups and a restaurant offering food related to the beer industry.
