Day 1 – Arrival – Explore Reykjavik
Take advantage of your time, exploring Reykjavik’s vibrant highlights and engaging in the city’s diverse activities. From the soothing Sky Lagoon to the architectural marvel of Perlan and the exhilarating FlyOver Iceland, there’s no shortage of experiences to make your first day in Iceland truly unforgettable.

Day 2 – Golden Circle
Today’s agenda is dedicated to immersing yourself in this iconic route, with a special emphasis on three pivotal sites: Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Park, and the breathtaking Gullfoss Waterfall (Golden Falls).
Thingvellir National Park holds historical significance as the birthplace of the world’s first parliament, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, offering visitors the rare chance to stroll between continents. The park boasts distinctive geological wonders, including the Silfra fissure, acclaimed as one of the world’s top snorkeling and diving destinations.
Adjacent to this, Geysir Park is home to the renowned Geysir, an erupting hot spring that sends water into the air at regular intervals. Take a brief hike up the nearby hill for a panoramic view of the park. Gullfoss Waterfall, a short drive from Geysir, stands as one of Iceland’s most majestic and captivating waterfalls, offering a mesmerizing spectacle of sheer force and cascading water volume.

Day 3 – Landmannalauger
Landmannalaugar, nestled in the highlands of Iceland, is a geothermal oasis renowned for its surreal landscapes and vibrant colors. The highlight of the area is the hike to Brennisteinsalda, a captivating volcanic peak adorned with multicolored rhyolite slopes. This challenging yet rewarding trek offers hikers breathtaking panoramic views, hot springs, and a unique encounter with Iceland’s raw and untamed beauty.

Day 4 – South Coast
Waterfalls, black sand beaches, and glaciers will captivate you, leaving enduring memories of the island. The first waterfall you’ll encounter is Seljalandsfoss, followed by Skogafoss—two stunning waterfalls with convenient and easy access. From there, head towards the true glacier, Solheimajokull, en route to Dyrholaey and the black sand beaches near the charming town of Vik. Accommodations can be arranged in Vik, or if you have the energy for a bit more driving, you can stay in Kirkjubaejarklaustur and conserve your energy for the following day’s adventures.

Day 5 – Reykjadalur Hike – Reykjanes Peninsula – Reykjavik
Today, we kick off with a charming hiking trail in Reykjadalur, spanning a total of 6 kilometers (round trip) with an easy to moderate difficulty level. This scenic route meanders through the Smoky Valley, where you’ll encounter warm springs, steaming vents, and bubbling mud pots. The highlight of the trail is the central hot river, perfect for a refreshing dip!
This trail is well-suited for children who are not daunted by a few kilometers, and it’s accessible year-round. Remember to bring your swimsuits and towels!
In the latter half of the day, immediately following the trek through the Smoky Valley, we’ll dedicate our time to the geothermally rich and vibrant region of Reykjanes Peninsula. You’ll have ample time to explore Krýsuvík, an impressive and colorful geothermal area, and relax by the warm pool of Brimketill. Cross the renowned bridge between continents, visit the iconic Blue Lagoon – you’re in for an unforgettable experience!

Day 6 – Reykjavik – Flight
Considering your flight schedule back home, take advantage of some extra time in Reykjavik to explore places in the city you may have missed on the first day. Ensure you arrive at the airport at least two and a half hours before your flight, and if you need to return the car, it’s advisable to do so half an hour earlier. A visit to the Blue Lagoon just before your flight could be a wonderful idea, offering the opportunity to unwind with a bath and board the plane feeling rejuvenated.
